I had my first kid at 39 and my second at 41. I had to do IVF for a year for each of them 😩 I can relate to a lot of what you discussed. I think what really messes with your head w/ fertility is not just the failure to produce a kid, but also feeling like you're being denied the choice. It's one thing to choose not to have kids or to choose not to have more kids, but once your body stops cooperating and you potentially no longer have choice in the matter it becomes a different kind of thing with some weird reverse psychology going on coupled also with the panic and hormones. Once I saw the window closing I knew for sure I wanted kids.
